Dated: 18-03-2017
School trips can be viewed as a powerful and positive teaching tool that boost academic as well as social development of all learners. With this aim Presidium took the students of Grade 5 on an exciting trip to Amritsar, the golden city of Punjab.
The serenity of the Golden temple and Durgiani temple filled the air with peaceful positive vibes. A visit to the Jalliawala Bagh gave them ample moments for paying tribute to and remembering the martyrs. They also went to the Wagah Border and witnessed the patriotic fervour in the loud cheers of the crowd gathered there. It was a lively trip where the students tremendously enjoyed the jovial ambience and flavours of Amritsar through its delectable food and spirited Punjabi culture.
Learning exists beyond books and the classroom. These trips provide unique opportunities for learning by doing hands on activities outside the classroom and lead to better achievement, standards, motivation, and behaviour in students. They enrich their knowledge about arts, history and culture; and develop love for learning through exploration while creating a wholesome learning experience for them.
