WORLD OZONE DAY: PRESIDIANS PLEDGE TO PRESERVE THE OZONE LAYER
Dated: 16-09-2021
“Earth without Ozone is like a house without a roof.”
Life is not possible on Earth without the ozone layer; it protects life on Earth by absorbing Sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation and so is also known as Ozone Shield. Presidians celebrated World Ozone Day, which is observed on 16 September every year, to spread awareness about how crucial the ozone shield is for life on Earth, its gradual depletion, and the need to search for possible solutions to preserve it. Students took part in a poster-making activity, created slogans and short speeches, highlighting the need for ozone layer protection. Students also advised using environment-friendly cleaning products to save the ozone layer and the hole in the atmospheric layer that is becoming wider. They also created awareness that they can protect the ozone layer by recycling, planting, and not using electronics that harm the ozone layer. Holding this activity, motivated students to reduce and recycle waste materials.
