It is rightly said that ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’. Presidium is an eco friendly institution which strongly supports the SwachhBharat Mission or cleanliness programme in school every day. The main purpose of this programme is to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits. Some essential measures under this initiative include emphasis on clean drinking water, promoting hand washing as a habit, basic sanitation and hygiene facilities and operation and maintenance. Our Honorary Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta has been acknowledging the importance of cleanliness and asked the students to be a helping hand by maintaining cleanliness in the school premises. Even teachers are an essential and crucial part of this programme.
Sparsh is an initiative, to empower underprivileged children with special needs to live a life of dignity and respect. The objective is to develop the potential of every child through a distinct program specifically designed keeping in mind their individual needs. Packed with a strong belief in serving society by taking initiatives to bring a change in this world, our young Presidians are setting an example for all. Continuing their social endeavors, meets are organized by the school on a regular basis where Presidians visit the Sparsh Special School to spend some good time and share joyful moments of love with the special children. The students feel humbled and deep respect for the lovely special children of Sparsh.
India continues to have one of the lowest literacy levels for women and girls. Educating then is essential for the nation’s development and their own. Project Shakti is an initiative of Sparsh NGO that aims to provide the girl child quality education that will empower them, and rescue them from poverty and exploitation. The aim is not just to educate the girl child, but to educate the entire family. The Presidians regularly visit the Shakti girls and exchange knowledge with them. Shakti girls have also been a part of Presidium Future Fest every year wherein they perform brilliantly leaving the onlookers spellbound with their unmatched elegance, grace, and poise. These girls undoubtedly prove that their hands have the proficiency to shape the world.
We at Presidium are proud to join hands with Rally for Rivers. It is a campaign crafted by Sadhguru to bring awareness to the people of India that our rivers are depleting at alarming levels and that our rivers need to be revived by planting 1km of trees on either side of the river. We pledge our unparalleled support in enabling the coming generations to relish the bounteous wonders of nature. Frequent tree-plantation drives are conducted to ensure an adequate number of trees around us. Maintaining a substantial number of trees has vast environmental, social and economic benefits for the nation and society.
Considering the importance of trees in contributing to the environment by providing oxygen improving air quality, conserving water, preserving soil, supporting wildlife and providing shelter, Presidium encourages students to be responsible towards our mother nature by constantly organising tree plantation drives. Every year, our budding environmentalists at Presidium also come together to celebrate World Earth Day and World Environment. The students join hands to kick-start a series of educational and fun activities to raise awareness on issues related to environment. They push forward the motto of ‘one earth, one life to save it’ and reflect on the current state of events and the efforts required to save the environment.
Diwali is a festival of lights and togetherness. People wait for this day to celebrate with their loved ones. The unanimous prayers, illuminated houses, doorsteps decorated with rangolis and exchange of gifts summarises the festival. On this day, Presidians visited old age home to celebrate Diwali with its inmates. The kind of warm welcoming attitude the aged people received from them made them smile ear to ear. They also responded with the same warmth and feelings. The students brought gifts and candles for all. Both the students and people from old age home cherished the moment and celebrated Diwali together.
