A DAY DEVOTED TO THE DEITY

Buddha Purnima is one of the most auspicious days as it marks the birth, enlightenment and attainment of nirvana by Gautam Buddha. It is celebrated in accordance with the full moon day. Presidians also celebrated the pious day with great reverence. The students were familiarised with Buddha’s life and his spiritual quest. They made attractive portraits of the deity and discussed how Buddha’s teachings of non-violence, love and compassion are still relevant in the contemporary environment of insecurity and unrest.
