Baisakhi is one of the significant Hindu-Sikh community festivals that is celebrated in India and other parts of the world. This marks the coronation of the tenth Sikh Guru and the formation of Khalsa Panth. The festival also marks the ripening of the Rabi crops and their first harvest and the Sikh’s and Hindu’s new year; people wish each other a prosperous and happy life with an abundant harvest. A special virtual assembly was held at Presidium to apprise the students about the auspicious festival of Baisakhi. The celebrations began with the prayers students were passionately involved dressed up in yellow color, they prepared and presented speeches, poems explaining the significance of the day and bhangra dance. They were familiarised with the customs and rituals followed on this day through a PowerPoint presentation. The celebrations concluded with a prayer to the true Enlightener seeking peace and prosperity!
