SAVE TIGERS TO SAVE THE PLANET:PRESIDIANS OBSERVE WORLD TIGER DAY
Dated: 01-08-2016
Tigers are at the apex of the food pyramid and their stable population in the wild indicate a healthy environment. Tigers like all other wildlife, play a pivotal role in preserving the entire ecosystem. To raise awareness on saving tigers, Presidans observed World Tiger Day on 29th July and shared their thoughts on the importance of maintaining a well balanced equilibrium for survival of this planet in a special assembly.
Incessant poaching, illegal wild life trade, habitat loss due to human intervention and scanty prey are some of the reasons for the declining tiger population. With less than 3000 tigers left in the world, the need of the hour is a strong global campaign with governments, communities and conservationists at the helm to support this cause and conserve the wild life. Together, Presidians spread the message that the ‘Web of Life’: all things in nature, animals, and humans, are interrelated - changing any component of this web will impact others. Saving tigers mean we are protecting an entire ecosystem.
