PRESIDIANS UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WINTER SOLSTICE UNDER PROJECT PARIDHI
Dated: 22-12-2015
At Presidium, we not only lay emphasis on academic learning but also on practical training for better understanding of concepts. With this objective on 22nd December, six Space Earth scientists conducted an interesting project called ‘Paridhi’ at Presidium Gurgoan. The project was coordinated by Joeell, Lakkshya, Vikramaditya and Manas, our trained Space Earth scientists who were very enthusiastic to take up the conduction and felt proud to do the same.
Presidians assembled in the ICT lab for a presentation on the proceedings of the project and later on they visited the open space for taking up the main activity of the project. Under this project they had to measure and calculate the circumference of the Earth and the significance of winter solstice. The instructor, Mrs. Juhi Joshi directed the students the procedure to take their observations.
Students of Grade Xth, were also interested in the way the students were explaining the procedure of taking the measurements and calculations. The students completed their calculations to determine the circumference to a nearest approximate value which all the groups calculated. It was a wonderful opportunity given by SPACE for Presidians to conduct such an event which was indeed an enriching experience for them.
