PRESIDIANS SEEK THE BLESSINGS OF 'SATGURU NANAK' ON 'GURPURAB'

With an aim to spread the teachings of the first guru of Sikhs, Guru Nanak Ji, students of Presidium celebrated the auspicious occasion of Gurpurab by conducting a special assembly. Students sang ‘shabad’ and chanted the ‘ek onkar’ mantra followed by an energetic ‘bhangra’ performance. Students spoke about Guru Nanak’s teachings and highlighting that the essence of all religion lies in oneness of God. They also discussed about the significance of ‘sangat’ that is coming together of devotees, recitation of hymns and listening to discourse and ‘pangat’ which means to share and enjoy food together. Towards the end of the assembly, students took a pledge to imbibe the teachings of the First Sikh Guru.
